Decarbonisation of process heat is a major challenge, with industrial process heat accounting for more than 40% of fossil fuel use in Australian industry.
A2EP has developed a website to build awareness and share success stories of how commercially available technologies such as industrial heat pumps and thermal batteries can be used to decarbonise process heat across a range of sectors.
Developed as part of a project for the Australian Renewable Energy Agency's Advancing Renewables Program, the website includes case studies, webinars and shares a series of reports on various aspects of decarbonising process heat. It also includes a heat pump selection tool developed by A2EP, pitt&sherry and SmartConsult, which is intended to aid initial investigations into using heat pumps for different applications.
