The Board of A2EP is pleased to announce the appointment of Jarrod Leak as our next chief executive. Jarrod comes to A2EP after working for Swedish engineering company Alfa Laval as Managing Director and Cluster President for their Oceania and South East Asian operations. Alfa Laval is well known for innovative sustainability solutions and the introduction of new technologies to industry. Jarrod has a great depth of experience across a range of industries which will help drive the A2EP message to a wide base. He is a passionate advocate and will be a powerful force for A2EP to further grow partnerships between industry and government.
As announced earlier, former CEO Jon Jutsen has left the organisation to head the largest federally funded Cooperative Research Centre ever established, RACE for 2030. The A2EP board would like to thank Jon for building the organisation over ten years and wish him the best for the RACE for 2030. Jon’s tireless efforts have established energy productivity firmly on the national agenda.
On accepting the position, Jarrod said that he was excited to be part of the A2EP journey: “Over the last decade A2EP has done a great job to get energy productivity on the agenda of federal and state governments as well as many businesses. This has led to advances in policy, programs and outcomes. It has seen significant resources put towards introducing new energy productivity technologies which will bring benefits over future decades and help Australia meets its Paris Agreement commitments while creating new jobs. With the energy productivity agenda well established, A2EP will enter a new era of enabling the success of these innovative technologies as well as looking further afield for the next generation of developments. We’re looking forward to major opportunities for A2EP and its members through working with Jon’s team at RACE in the RDD&D for new technologies.
Jarrod observed that “The current COVID-19 crisis represents an opportunity for ‘green stimuli’ from governments that should greatly benefit our members and other stakeholders. Right now, we are working with government agencies and industry associations to ensure stimulus measures have short-term economic impacts and long-term energy productivity benefits.
